Video shows French capturing Somali pirates

France's defence ministry has released a video showing Navy teams intercepting Somali pirates on Wednesday. The Nivose warship chased the pirates 500 nautical miles (926 kilometres) east of the Kenyan coast after tracking them overnight from the scene of a failed attack on a Liberian-registered vessel. The suspected pirates are now being taken to Kenya, where they are to stand trial. Increased piracy and hijackings in the Indian Ocean off Somalia have wreaked havoc on one of the world's busiest shipping zones, despite a stepped-up international military presence.
